Rep. Chip Roy Discusses Achievements and Future Plans

Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, recently reflected on the achievements of the Republican Party during an interview with Fox News Digital. Roy noted that Republicans have made significant strides, emphasizing the need to carry on their efforts to completion. He cited tax-related provisions in the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ signed by President Donald Trump as key accomplishments.

Roy highlighted the country’s border situation as a prominent example of Republican success. He stated that enforcing the law has effectively stopped illegal border crossings. One legislative achievement he mentioned is the ‘Laken Riley Act,’ named after a young woman murdered in 2024. This measure addresses issues of illegal immigration.

Roy urged the GOP to unify with a clear vision for the future to succeed in upcoming elections. ‘Have we done everything we should do? No,’ he remarked, acknowledging that Congress has yet to meet all its objectives. Despite this, he believes Republicans can still maintain their majorities in the midterm elections.

“I think right now Republicans are staring at barely holding onto the Senate and slightly losing the house, but I still think we can win the house,” Roy said.

The congressional schedule anticipates a break following the upcoming elections, but Roy stressed the importance of Republicans resuming work post-midterms to continue addressing the country’s challenges.

Roy shared thoughts on government spending in a social media post, criticizing inefficiencies and advocating for independence rather than reliance on government assistance. He commented on a reported proposal by the Trump administration that aims to provide childcare subsidies to stay-at-home parents. The White House has not confirmed such plans, calling related discussions speculative.

Reflecting on his political career and future aspirations, Roy stated his commitment to addressing major problems facing Americans. He left open the possibility of running for office again, attributing the decision to divine guidance and the people of Texas.
