One caller, who suffered a back wound, told the dispatcher they were losing blood. The caller was unsure who fired the shot. ‘I took cover,’ the caller said, noting police presence in the area.
A dispatcher calmed the injured person, saying, ‘It’s OK. Just breathe. Breathe with me. I’m going to stay with you.’ Soon after, the caller indicated they were near an officer.

This incident occurred amidst increased concerns about gun violence at public events. Fox 13 Seattle reported that interim Police Chief Andre Sayles promised an arrest soon, though details remained undisclosed to protect the investigation’s integrity. A 15-year-old suspect is currently in custody.
The Mayor’s Office emphasized collaboration with the Seattle Police to ensure public awareness of critical incidents. The shooting took place at the Seattle Center Armory during the Bite of Seattle food festival, leaving three dead and four wounded, including a 2-year-old.
The deceased ranged in age from 19 to 56. Mayor Katie Wilson described the incident as ‘an act of horrific violence,’ stressing the trauma for families and the community.
