Judge Steven Hippler, who originally accepted Kohberger’s guilty pleas in July 2025, has set a status conference for June 3, 2027, and an evidentiary hearing for June 17, 2027. This came after prosecutors requested that the judge dismiss Kohberger’s petition without a hearing.

Kohberger pleaded guilty to the murders of Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin. The plea deal spared him from a possible death penalty.
