I was managing social media for the Titans then and joined a telethon she organized.
Walking into the studio, her appearance was striking—bright hair and shimmering rhinestones. “Thanks for coming,” she greeted with a generous smile, “I’m Dolly!” I was momentarily speechless. Her kindness exceeded my expectations, defying the saying that one shouldn’t meet their heroes.

Beyond the wildfire relief, Dolly’s impact is profound. Through the Dollywood Foundation, she established Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, sending millions of free books to children worldwide. She funded scholarships, supported Dollywood employees’ education, and donated millions to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Her philanthropic endeavors were not a side project; they defined her character. Her nephew, Bryan Seaver, articulated her legacy by saying, “She never saw a door she couldn’t open, and the doors she opened changed history.” Dolly taught us the value of genuine kindness and authenticity.
