As reported by Thomas Harding of MLB.com, Adams is set to start for the Rockies against the Washington Nationals on Tuesday, marking his major league debut.
In the trade, Colorado also acquired infielder Carlos Vielma while sending outfielder Brenton Doyle to the White Sox. Prior to this trade, Adams compiled a 3-4 record with a 3.86 ERA, accumulating 48 strikeouts in 49 innings across various minor league levels. At Triple-A Charlotte, Adams pitched in nine outings, delivering a 3-3 record with a 4.25 ERA and 36 strikeouts over 36 innings.
Adams’ debut against the Nationals is a significant milestone in his career, especially after missing the entire 2025 season due to Tommy John surgery recovery. The Rockies are also calling up right-handed pitcher Blake Adams to replace veteran Kyle Freeland, who is on the 15-day injured list with a neck issue. Blake Adams, 25, will make his debut following an 8.10 ERA across 17 games this season at Albuquerque.
The recent trade also brought Vielma, who boasts an impressive .452/.553/.548 slash line in nine Dominican Summer League games. The Rockies anticipate strong contributions from both Adams and Vielma in shaping their future.
