Mar Acevedo, a retired high school teacher, was at the park early one hot morning. He stood on a trail overlooking grassy marshes, hoping to see this rare frog once more. A week earlier, he discovered the green tree frog, possessing its notable blue coloration, within a small area of the extensive park near Telegraph Road.
