Two individuals lost their lives in a shooting incident that occurred late Wednesday morning on the West Side in Chicago’s Garfield Park neighborhood, as reported by the police.
The incident began shortly before noon. A 25-year-old man was standing in the 200 block of South Pulaski Road when an assailant approached and opened fire. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds across his body. He was promptly transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where medical personnel pronounced him dead.
A 64-year-old woman was also discovered nearby in the 300 block of South Pulaski Road. She suffered a gunshot wound to her chest and was found unresponsive. Authorities took her to the same hospital where she, too, was pronounced dead.
After committing the crime, the gunman reportedly fled south on Pulaski Road in a black sedan. Detectives launched an investigation to track down the suspect.
