Israel has persisted in conducting strikes since agreeing to a ceasefire last October, maintaining control over significant areas of the Gaza Strip. U.S. President Donald Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on July 28.
Prime Minister Netanyahu announced that Israel has turned down the 15-point plan for Gaza presented by President Trump’s Board of Peace. He stated that Israel would not withdraw its forces until Hamas completely disarms.
President Trump had announced a breakthrough in his plan aimed at ending the ongoing conflict. Both Israel and Hamas, who initially agreed to the ceasefire last year, were a part of this plan.
Despite the ceasefire agreement, Israel continues to strike Gaza. Trump stated that Hamas, which controlled Gaza for nearly two decades, has agreed to disarm following the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which ignited the Gaza war.
