The Red Sox have shown interest in other shortstops as well. They have been linked to Elly De La Cruz from the Cincinnati Reds, Zach Neto from the Los Angeles Angels, and Otto Lopez from the Miami Marlins. Currently, Boston appears as their strongest contender for acquiring one of these players. Passan describes the Red Sox approach as “aggressive,” acknowledging a small chance a selling team might capitalize on this.
