The handling of the war, linked to Operation Epic Fury launched in February, faces scrutiny. This operation has resulted in the deaths of 18 U.S. soldiers. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani noted that the city lacks the authority to arrest Netanyahu. Mamdani urged the U.S. to join the ICC and enforce its arrest warrant against Netanyahu. Trump firmly countered this, stating on Truth Social that Netanyahu would not be arrested while in the U.S. Netanyahu confirmed his intention to visit New York City for the UN General Assembly.
