The final stage took place on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, starting shortly before 6 p.m. and concluding just before 8 p.m. local time. The start was delayed and the route shortened due to wildfires in the southwest of France. These adjustments were necessary as event security and police were redirected to combat the fires.
The final leg, initially planned to begin in Thoiry, 56 kilometers from Paris, was adapted to prioritize safety. Ultimately, Dutch cyclist Mathieu van der Poel emerged victorious in the stage, completing it in 1 hour, 58 minutes, and 49 seconds.
Across the entire tour, Pogačar clocked an impressive 73 hours, 56 minutes, and 26 seconds, finishing nearly six and a half minutes ahead of his closest rival, Belgium’s Remco Evenepoel. This win places Pogačar among an elite group of cyclists who have claimed five tour victories, equaling the records of legends like Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault, and Miguel Induráin.
