The mobile Patriot air defense system is equipped with advanced radar, a control van, and missile launchers that intercept ballistic missiles midair. The need for these systems is underscored by Ukraine’s Air Force recent inability to intercept 23 ballistic missiles launched by Russia, resulting in over 50 casualties.
Ukraine’s allies face constraints in supplying more interceptors due to lengthy manufacturing processes and strained inventories from global conflicts. The U.S.-Israeli conflict in Iran has notably depleted stockpiles, increasing demand in regions targeted by Iran’s retaliatory strikes.
