Marjorie Taylor Greene, once a strong supporter of Donald Trump, compared the financial gains of the Trump family to those of Hunter Biden during an appearance on ‘The View.’ Greene claimed that the earnings since Trump’s return to the presidency in January 2025 reflected ‘corruption’ similar to what she previously criticized in the Biden family.
This comment follows Trump’s financial disclosures, which have renewed attention on his and his family’s business interests. The New York Times reported Trump had over $1 billion in income linked to cryptocurrency ventures, alongside another $1 billion from other business holdings. This marks a significant increase from the previous year’s reported earnings.
House Republicans have accused the Biden family of receiving over $10 million from foreign entities, suggesting an ‘influence-peddling’ operation associated with Biden’s political position. However, investigators found no direct payments to Biden or evidence that he altered U.S. policy due to his family’s business activities.
The $2.2 billion reported by Trump in his latest disclosure vastly exceeds the $10 million reportedly received by the Biden family from foreign sources. White House spokesperson Davis Ingle dismissed Greene’s comments, accusing her of seeking relevance by criticizing President Trump.
“Trump Derangement Syndrome has rotted former Congresswoman Greene’s peanut-sized brain,” Ingle said.
During her appearance on ‘The View,’ Greene responded to questions about Trump’s financial gains by saying, “Oh, he’s making money, all right.” She noted her previous criticisms of Hunter Biden for perceived corruption and expressed surprise at Trump’s earnings.
Greene acknowledged Hunter Biden’s profits during his father’s presidency but emphasized that the Trump family’s wealth accumulation was greater. Once a prominent Trump ally in Congress, Greene’s outspoken criticism has increased after disagreements over foreign policy, resulting in her resignation midway through her third term.
Trump’s Earnings in Office
A report from the Office of Government Ethics released in June detailed Trump’s substantial earnings. Trump accrued billions through business dealings involving stock trades, real estate, and royalties from branded products.
Approximately $1.4 billion was attributed to cryptocurrency enterprises spearheaded by World Liberty Financial (WLFI) and the sale of the $TRUMP meme coin. These ventures quickly became profitable components of his business operations.
The earnings during his presidency significantly surpassed those before 2024, estimated at $622 million in that year. The administration consistently rebuffed concerns about potential conflicts between Trump’s business interests and public responsibilities.
“Neither the President nor his family has ever engaged—or will ever engage—in conflicts of interest,” asserted Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly.
Following the financial disclosure’s release, Megyn Kelly expressed frustration over Trump’s sons’ financial exploits. Despite admiration for Trump’s sons, Kelly disapproved of their profit-making from government associations, echoing past criticism of Hunter Biden.
Hunter Biden criticized the Trumps on July 5, drawing comparisons to ‘King George,’ and highlighted Trump family’s business dealings as opposed to his own congressional hearings and subpoenas.
Hunter Biden Investigation Findings
Hunter Biden’s deposition emerged as part of Republicans’ impeachment inquiry into his father. Republicans alleged President Biden’s office was utilized for family benefit, with associates securing millions from overseas.
The White House repeatedly denied President Biden’s connection to his son’s business affairs. House Republicans concluded that Hunter Biden, along with family and associates, received an estimated $10 million from countries like China, Ukraine, and Romania.
Committees claimed the Biden family manipulated the president’s influence for business gains, categorizing it as an ‘influence-peddling’ scheme. Despite alleging ‘impeachable conduct,’ no articles of impeachment were voted on.

Other Politicians Accused of Profiting
Nancy Pelosi has often been mentioned in discussions about politicians’ wealth. As her retirement approaches, Pelosi’s trading remains documented by tracking websites due to the STOCK Act’s requirements.
Her trades amounted to $217 million since 2014, particularly within the information technology sector. The surge in demand for memory chips drove a notable increase in Micron Technology’s share price.
While Pelosi’s stock trades have faced scrutiny, she maintained no direct control over them.
Former Senator Robert Menendez was sentenced to 11 years in prison in January 2025 for accepting bribes related to benefiting foreign nations. Convictions included bribery, conspiracy, and fraud, leading to his imprisonment.
