Lake County authorities have reported a tragic shooting incident in Mundelein, resulting in the death of a man and serious injuries to a woman. Two individuals are currently in custody as part of the investigation. Police suspect the incident might be a targeted domestic situation.
The shooting occurred around 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday at an apartment located in the 500 block of Deepwoods Drive. Officers arrived at the scene to find the man deceased and the woman suffering from severe gunshot wounds, believed to be life-threatening. She was promptly taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for medical attention.
Mundelein police provided details of a vehicle suspected to be linked to the crime. An Illinois State Police officer stopped the vehicle near the Indiana state line. A man and a woman were taken into custody. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
