Pro-Peace Banner Display at Empire State Building

Two individuals scaled the Empire State Building in New York City, showcasing a pro-peace message. The man and woman, dressed in dark attire and wearing masks, unfurled a banner that read, “When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace.” After displaying the flag, the man proposed to the woman, and they kissed, observed by news helicopters above.

Upon descending to street level, law enforcement detained the duo, confirmed by NYPD spokeswoman Delaney Kempner. The ascent remains a mystery, as the couple climbed a 200-foot spire atop the 1,250-foot structure, ranking as the sixth-tallest in the nation.

In recordings from air traffic control, a voice questioned, “What’s all the hoopla?” A response highlighted the situation: “Geniuses climbed to the top of the Empire State Building, the top of the spire.” Another added, “A little hot for that, isn’t it?”

This event occurred during a period of heightened activity in New York City, as the city hosted visitors for World Cup matches and the July Fourth weekend. Additionally, there are preparations for a potential wedding involving pop star Taylor Swift and football player Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden.
