He directed over 1,000 television episodes, contributing to iconic series. Often dubbed as the ‘king of the multi-cam sitcom,’ Burrows’ big break came with directing ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show.’ This led to him becoming a principal director for ‘Taxi,’ where he won his first two Emmy Awards.

He co-created the successful sitcom ‘Cheers’ and directed nearly every episode. His work on the show earned him six Emmy Awards. Beyond his achievements, Burrows was cherished for his kindness and generosity. He made everyone feel valued and remembered each person he met by name.
