Danielle Fishel Credits Weightlifting for Health and Fitness

Danielle Fishel, widely recognized for her role as Topanga Lawrence on ‘Boy Meets World,’ shared a surprising fitness revelation. She no longer engages in traditional cardio workouts. Instead, Fishel focuses on weightlifting to maintain her health and energy. The actress, now 45, explained in an interview that strength training has significantly improved her well-being.

During the Tribeca Festival in New York City, Fishel discussed her fitness journey while attending the premiere of her latest project, ‘Doc Meets World.’ In her own words, ‘I like to walk for 20 to 30 minutes after every meal, but I lift weights, and it has made all the difference.’

Fishel is among the growing number of people embracing weightlifting over extended cardio sessions. Many choose strength training as a method to build muscle and support long-term health.

Fishel’s comments came during an appearance with her ‘Boy Meets World’ castmates, Rider Strong and Will Friedle. The reunion at the festival involved reflections on their experiences growing up in the public eye. A notable aspect of these discussions focused on their past connections, including their relationship with Ben Savage.

Rider Strong shared, ‘My friendship with Ben? Oh, that we were just amazing co-workers. He was so talented, and he taught me how to be a child actor really, because you know, I just didn’t know anything, and he was already a pro.’

‘Boy Meets World’ aired on ABC from 1993 to 2000, spanning seven seasons. Rider Strong shared fond memories of working alongside Savage. He praised Savage’s talent and remarked on the intense bond they developed during the show’s run.

Will Friedle, who portrayed Eric Matthews on the show, opened up about the challenges of child stardom. He admitted there were times when leaving Hollywood seemed appealing. However, the passion for entertaining ultimately kept him in the industry. Friedle stated, ‘The love of needing to entertain’ is what continues to draw him back to his career.
