The Indiana Fever are currently facing a challenging moment. The team has recently endured two consecutive losses, and head coach Stephanie White is under heavy scrutiny from fans regarding her handling of Caitlin Clark’s playing time this season.
During a recent 100-84 defeat to the Portland Fire, a video surfaced online showing a heated exchange between White and Clark on the sideline. The content of the argument remains unknown, but the controversy arose when Clark remained on the bench in favor of rookie Raven Johnson.
The video quickly gained traction, receiving over 2.4 million views in less than a day, along with nearly 1,000 comments and close to 600 shares. Many fans voiced their dissatisfaction with White’s treatment of Clark, with some demanding White’s dismissal and others suggesting Clark seek a trade.
“White has to go. As a devoted Fever fan, I will not watch anymore. We were planning on getting tickets costing over $600, but that will not happen now. Christy Sides did a better job. Stephanie is pathetic!” one fan exclaimed.
Another fan criticized the coach’s strategies, noting:
“White needs to go. It’s her coaching, and her defensive and offensive plays aren’t working. CC isn’t the only one underperforming under this system.”
